Romanacci’s pizza is the closest you can get to authentic Italian pizza like we had in Rome,  without taking a plane. I like their Margherita Pizza but they have many others to try from their brick oven.  They also have a wide variety of delicious pastries like cannolis that are made right in front of you. Don’t forget to have a Fanta straight from Italy or a Mexican Coca-Cola with your meal, which are better than the American ones, because they use real sugar.

IMG_0535The Ginger Man in Greenwich, is a very popular and cozy place to have dinner with friends.  I went there with my friend Brandon  and he liked it also.  We both had the Chicken Wings, they were BBQ wings, so they weren’t that spicy.  We also had Ribs which were delicious.  Try to get a table by the fire-place.

Last Friday night, my dad and I wanted to watch the Knicks game, while having some great food.  So we decided to try Guvnor’s Brewery in South Norwalk.  We asked in advance if we could watch the game and Jessica, the host, totally took care of us! (talk about service!) They rolled down their big screen and gave us terrific seats to watch, and then it was time to get our eating game on!

1st Quarter:   The Scotch Egg

IMG_0677

The Scotch Egg is a Hard-Boiled Egg that is surrounded by Breakfast Sausage and deep-fried.  It is definitely a game-starter!!

2nd Quarter:   Spicy Chorizo Chicken Wings

At first, the wings are as hot as the Knicks were on Friday, but over time, you become used to them. Some of the best wings I’ve ever had.

3rd Quarter:   The Guvnor’s Burger

A HUGE Beef patty on a Brioche bun with American cheese (But they have blue and cheddar too), pickles, and thousand island dressing.  It is served with their specialty Garlic and Parmesan French Fries.  This burgers is definitely an All-Star.

4th Quarter:   The Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie

(sorry… no picture… we ate it to fast 😦 )

A perfect way to end the game!  A deep dish, fresh-from-the-oven, Chocolate Chip  Cookie with Vanilla Ice-Cream on top.

Even though these are just Quick Bites, Guvnor’s really deserves a review!!!!  Thanks to everyone at Guvnor’s especially our host Jessica who was so nice!

Finally, yesterday, we made a quick visit to the brand new I-95 Rest Stop in Darien.  They have all sorts of cool places like Sbarro’s, Mac N’Out, Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonalds,Wilson’s BBQ, Pinkberry (opening soon) and even a souvenir shop called Statement.  We went to Dunkin, for a hot chocolate and donut… and on the way out we saw our faves, OMNOMCT grabbing some Wilson’s BBQ for the road on their way to New Haven!

Wow, this rest stop is really the “COOL PLACE TO GO”… and speaking of “going” I checked out the bathroom and it gets a 5 out of 5!

  1. Hey Alex! A reader from NY here. My boyfriend (also Alex!) moved to Norwalk, so we’ve been using your blog as a way to try out all the best brunch places. We love breakfast! Keep up the good work, and thanks for suggesting Guvnor’s Brewery and Cafe Turnier. Can’t wait to check them out for lunch next time I’m down there for a visit. A suggestion: have you ever thought about putting all your recommendations on a custom Google map? Can’t wait to see where else you go with your dad!
